Rik De Cubas
Self-taught at 15 years old, Rik began playing at local parties and private events. He then began performing at various local clubs and bars and in multiple bands throughout South Florida. His musical passion and performances gained him praise and notoriety from his fans and new-comers. Finally, in 1995 Rik signed his first legitimate record contract with Cane/Universal records, with the popular Latin Rock band, El Duende. Recorded at the world-famous Criteria Studios, their first album, Transicion, was a Top 20 hit in the Latin Rock Charts which led to a nation-wide tour & many TV performances. He then appeared on Willy Chirino’s hit album, Son Del Alma. He then performed at Murphy's Law, in The Hard Rock Casino Resort in Hollywood, Florida for over 12 years. Since then, he’s been giving private guitar lessons and performing around South Florida, including The Margaritaville Resort and Hotel and other hot local venues where he performs with his band, the world-famous, high-energy, multi-faceted cover band, Havoc 305.
